I'm never going to finish my car.

« on: September 12, 2004, 11:56:50 PM »

I’m starting to really feel like DJ, I’ve had my car from Scott for almost two months.  He didn’t ship all of the parts with the car when it was shipped.  I PM’d him over a month ago asking what we were going to do about shipping these parts.  Some were parts not planned on sending with the car.  So I asked what we were going to do about paying for shipping.

Anyways I received a reply from him on the 13th of last month stating he had a box big enough to ship the parts in and would try by the end of the week (no mention of how payment for shipping would be handled if any). No word so I PM’d him about a week ago and he replied stating he hadn’t shipped the parts yet.  I’ve tried to not state bad things about Scott but I’m at the point (not that it will probably make any difference) of becoming the squeaky wheel.

I would just like to be done with our transaction.  I’ve got the car, I just need the rest of the rest of the parts.  I mean, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS GUY!!!  Angry  I probably would have still stated good things about the car even though it arrived not as described, and I would have thought he would try and save his name by doing what he says, after all of the crap he has gotten for NOT doing what he said.

I really believe he has given up on the kit car thing and is screwing me, he doesn’t care what people say about him anymore, he’s out.  I was just praying he wouldn’t get out before screwing me.

I guess I should just call myself screwed and get in contact with Powerhouse about how to get a set of the missing parts of my SI interior.

Here is a little story:  My car arrived at 4:30am, while waiting up for it I wrote this awesome pat on the back for Scott to post to the forum.  Figuring the car was going to be as stated and look like it did in the pictures sent to me (and posted here).  Man I was going to build him up soooooo much after seeing the smack down he was getting from people on the forum.

When the car arrived, the paint had/has swirls all over it, it didn’t have the deep shine like in the pictures  (1st disappointment),  The battery was dead, not mentioned to me by Scott when it left his house, the driver told me Scott had to jump it to get the window up so I KNOW he knew the battery was dead and didn’t tell me (2nd disappointment).  I put the jump starter on it to get it started and in the garage, still didn’t start (3rd disappointment).

Something is up with the parking brake or something because the damn thing barely moved when pushed, so between me and the two truck drivers we couldn’t push it into the garage (4th disappointment).  So I had to leave the car half way in my driveway for the rest of the night and ask four of my neighbors to help me push my new car (that was supposed to run) into my garage (5th disappointment).

After I gave up on getting the car in garage that morning I went right inside and deleted the post about praising Scott’s work and the car.  Then I find out there is gas in the oil pan.  Scott told me one of the injectors had a small leak but that the car was drivable (and he drove it about 8 blocks going to and from the paint shop), NO WAY was that true with gas in the oil (6th disappointment).   And if he did the engine could have some damage from running it that way.  NOW I’M STUCK WAITING FOR PARTS. Angry

After the car arrived I wanted to tell Scott I would ship the car back to him, and eat the $1600 to have the cars transported back and forth, that’s how displeased I was with the car.

Now it’s time to apologize to DJ………….I’m sorry dude that I ever defended Scott in any of your posts.  I’m sure you probably don’t have your parts yet and never will, just like me.

For those of you who are dealing with Scott at the present GOOD LUCK, and I hope he doesn’t screw you too.

Powerhouse, if you read this please PM me so we can talk about the SI interior parts I need to complete my interior.

Thanks,
Ron

Sorry man I don't know what to say ... it sucks.  What really sucks is that people like Scott are allowed to do this, as legally it costs more to fight him and still we would get nothing.
For everyone reading this, you have been warned!  I paid Scott $1700 for nothing but lies and excuses and this has been on-going for 5 months!  For anyone out there that still dosn't believe me, I think Scott still has some parts left he would like to sell ....

It is indeed unfortunate that all it seems you can do is lift the rock and shine a light on them and watch as they scurry away .... bad for business, very bad indeed  Cry

Ron,

I really like you Ron and I don't want to get into a pissing match with you.  It's totally and completely my fault that I forgot to ship the interior door pulls/mechs with the car.  It's totally my fault that they didn't get shipped before my trip.  But seriously, that's ALL that is missing for you to finish your car!!!  This is the reason for your post?

I'm really sorry that you are dissapointed in the car but in all honesty, I think you are reacting out of frustration.  It is true that your parts didn't ship as I intended.

I've been calling and calling with no reply from you.  How do you expect me to keep in contact and keep you updated when you don't reply to my calls?  Or even my emails for that matter.

But seriously I have to mention that you knew the things you mentioned about your car.  We talked about them.  Even posted some of them.

The car was not a turn key.  It was sold with only four major diffences from when I bought it from John Hayes and the information about it's condition was posted when I bought it.

1 - Paint it while fixing the cracks and holes and stuff.
2 - install the door releases
3 - rough install the interior
4 - Install the new carpet
plus...
5 - I told you I would include the authentic Ferrari Interior parts like the interior door and the other replica interior that came with the car as well.  All of which was AGREED upon NOT to ship with the car because it would damage the interior, just like the frame parts you didn't ship in your car.

You agreed to repair the motor and finish the car beyond that.  And, as I've said repeatedly, I'm available to help.  I've called and called in fact, to no reply from you.

Have you buffed the car out yet?  I explained in great detail the process and it's results.

My only real problem here is that I've not shipped out the parts.  I got, and replied to your email (about a week ago) asking if I was waiting to ship you your parts until I got mine from you.  Also, the payment for the extra parts I sent along with the car (about $250).  I said "no" and that I was behind and I was sorry.  The box with your stiff in it is going out today, I didn't get it to the Mail Boxes Express store in time to go out on Friday and I was in Idaho all last week and part of the week before that.

Seriously, I know how easy it is for everyone to jump on this bandwagon but do you really, honestly think that I am out to screw you?

Try calling me back.

Oh, and I'll include some anti-swirl compound in the box.

Again, just for the record....

As for you DJ...

I still don't believe you are trying to screw me as I did at first.  It seems that USPS is sending you a check for $1700 for the parts THEY lost.  As I've said a thousand times, it would get handled in due time but there was very little that I could do about it.

Of course you know that because I sent YOU an email telling you that last week.  And still, here you are... posting.

Even after you get your money and presumably an apology from USPS along with it, you will STILL be here saying I ripped you off.

Hopeless.

It has proven impossible to recieve a straight answer to a question from you (even though of course you claim otherwise), as you use the English language to misdirect people's attention to see what you want them to see and to avoid the facts at hand has proven to be frustrating to say the least.
...I won't take your word for it Scott, I shall check with USPS myself to see whether or not what you say is true.
I don't suppose they will also go over to your house and pick up my other set of vents you still havn't posted to me (and which you refused my offer to have them picked up by Fedex) or is USPS going to refund my money for those as well even though it's not their responsibility?
I'm starting to believe Scott that you are a professional con man.  It's like you figured out that people with a dream are more vunerable than they would normally be given any other situation .. and the web has proven to be a valuable resource for you not to deliver on what you advertise and also the excuses to not take responsibilty for taking peoples money; e.g. someone died in the family, my computors down, well I didn't actually have those parts in stock like I told you, I've been busy with my life, I've already sent you the parts, USPS must have lost your parts, I don't feel like sending you your parts as you havn't been very nice to me ..... these are just some of the "reasons" I have heard from you - I just wish I had a "reason" to believe you....
... meanwhile people still need parts ... and as you have continued to defend yourself as a trustworthy businessman, people seem to have continued to vunerably give you their faith and money.
I see you say you have claimed for $1700 from USPS for the "lost" package, even though the amount I paid you for those parts were $1125.  I hope you aren't trying to con USPS as well?

Basic fomula for running a business: 1. Have product or service to give.  2. Advertise product or service.  3. Recieve money from customer for product or service advertised.  4. Give the customer the best product or service you are able to give as fast as you can give (e.g. not 5 months, 8 months or 1 year).  5. Result: Satisfied customer.  6. Customer so happy with service and product, he/she promotes your business for you via word of mouth!  7. Business grows.  8. Business owner happy.

I wish I was happy ....

Hmmm...

More confusion I think...

1 - It was you that touted to everyone here that I ripped you for $1700 and now you say it's only $1100 and change.

2 - Of course I'm not sending you the vents AND your money... that would be assinine.

Even now you are totally contradicting yourself... again...

It would be better if you just stopped.

Think about it... it doesn't have to be this way.  You can be right and I should just keep your money (if it were possible).  I could just ignore you, which I haven't.  You could be totally in the dark, which you aren't.

I've been telling you, in detail, what's been transpiring.  Each and every step of the way.  You are choosing to ignore it publically while dealing with me privately in a totally different fashion.

Yeah, but you're right.... who's gonna believe Scott?

Like I said before, you're never going to say you are sorry or admit when you were wrong this entire time.  I realize this and that it's pointless to try and please you.  So once again, I am through trying.

Incidentally, I don't think anyone here believe's that I am using my "use of the english language" nearly as much as you are hiding behind your seemingly limited use of the English Language.  Race isn't an issue with me but I have had my fill of foreigners hiding behind "I not understand well, speak little English" crap.

Because you understand me fine.

Well, I can't believe I'm still reading this BS! I'll tell you Scott.... "your reputation precides you!" Did that HURT??? Get off your ass and fix this pronto. I'm reading stuff on Pennock's as well! The longer these excuses ride, the more your rep is deteriorating!
Now, to those who haven't had their dream ruined, learn from this... PAY by CREDIT CARD!!!! There's nothing like having a BIG Corporation sitting in your back seat! You don't have to listen to next months excuses! If you don't recieve the goods in a specified time, they bill back the merchant! end of deal!
I'm SO disappointed...

this was no big secret. were are not fools here.

the only people that will be satisfied are his close friends and we all know this....

I mean theres but two things in life one does not do under any circumstances...lose a lottery ticket, and forget to go to mail box etc after a history like he has.

Sacto glad to hear you came out in public...you were stoically patient, almost monk-like, and gave him but every possible opportunity to perform but of course it's your fault for not answering the phone.  You know I would never answer a phonecall from the guy that was supposed to send me my parts months ago either becasue perhaps he needs my address or something.

Lets not forget, this is the guy that blamed John for not finishing his car, then had it sitting at Johns shop for 9 months after it was finished.....

IMO its better to just getted f*cked than all the sweet talk and promises.  Hell dont leave me flowers and your phone number, slip out in the middle of the night and let me accept my fate please, sir.

Good intentions amount to a crock of sh*t.  When you guys sent him payments for all the items you bought, I bet he didnt miss the opportunity to rush the checks to the bank like he missed mail boxes etc.

Getting these damn cars finished is hard enough and we got one of our own eating away at us, slowly, from within. He's a tumorous cancer.

And I don't wanna hear a damn word from anyone about give him a chance...

His chances are over.  It's time for Chemo.

And about the "No speeka-English..." remark, not only was it extremely racist, it was the squeak of a dying man as he gasps at his last breaths of life.
He knows it's shot, he's on his way out, his partners will now abandon him and he'll attempt to go out with guns blazing spitting out silly little commentary to remember him by.  A few of his buddies probably chuckled.

It's finally come down to, even if he perfoms for everyone, his rep cant be resurrected so the beancounter in him tells himself that it doesnt pay to perform...theres nothing in it left for him so everyone get's screwed.  And it's all your fault for not trusting him in the first place.

What he's overlooking is what the answer is when he questions himself as a man.  Can that really be bought for a few dollars?  Apparantly so.

You know what... you're right.

I just assumed that you EXPECTED the $1700 back because that's what you've been touting here and what you claimed through Paypal.  I was working under the assumption of a full refund.

Now that you point it out, I'll have to make that change.  Thanks!!!

I don't think you read that post right either...  In the continuing email discussion between you and I on WHO the check was going to be sent to, I've been told that it would be you, NOT me.  I have no idea WHEN you'll get it.  That's up to them.
