Hello, I am newer to this "kit car" industry, and have offered my services (and have received a lot of wonderful response) in the line of work that I am in. I am a Carbon Composite Lamination Engineer in aeronautical development and race vehicle prototyping. I was shown this site by a friend that was building a kit car and have enjoyed reading about all of the wonderful builds taking place. Its great, there is like a whole other world out here! I recently was talking to some fellow employees that I have considered a new hobby of building myself a "kit car" (Johns LP640 when it is developed). Well, lets make a long story shorter, "through the grapevine" I was informed that an employee in our facility has some "K1 Attack" molds in the back of his personal shop that he's not going to use.
Well, I had no idea what a K1 Attack was, so I went to Google Images and typed it in. "WOW that looks like a sporty little car" was my first impression. Although I won't be building one, my first thought was all of my new friends here on this forum.
Is it of any interest to anyone? He said I can use the molds (I guess they make something like 33 separate pieces for the kit?), and although they will still belong to him, he will let me take them if I want them. I guess I could get a local fiberglass shop to do the work if anyone is interested in a package. My background is in carbon fiber components and structural pieces, and I doubt someone would want to pay for me to layup and bag all of these pieces in carbon, so I figured that fiberglass would be a cost effective route?
Let me know, there isn't any rush as I said, they are just piled up in the back on his shop, but apparently they are "... really nice molds..." as I was told. Let me know if anyone has interest.

Hi Hughes
Such a great find, the K1 Attack has always been a favorite of mine, where are u ? UK or US
There have been a few here that have still been intrested in the K1, a local builder here in UK has a car complete but loads dont fit properly and needed modification. Still its the look of the car im intrested in, already built a Diablo, looking for next project.
If you could give a price to do a set of panels in fibreglass would be greatful,
Garry

wasnt euro works selling these at one point in the US? and I think you could use a mid 80s camaro for a donor as well....although there was this attack and another car I could be getting confused on.

No Camaro. The car was based on a Honda Accord using the glass, windshield frame engine cradle, engine (moved to the back) and come with a tublar chassis. The front suspension was Audi ...... I think. There is an Attack forum if you want to go there, but whatever you do, don't mention the possibility of new bodies......the guy that started the Attack moniters that site. www.attackforums.comThis car is what got me interested in sports cars in the kit form. It doesn't have a top so that is something that would need to be addressed. If you make the bodies, and make them affordable, I think you will sell a ton of them. I would like to say I would take one, but finances and health issues for my wife will prevent that.......for now. Mike

Mike , Sorry about the situ with the wife, will keep you in my prayers. Agreed, with what you said on the Attack. Will you also offer the chassis? That makes a big difference as the car was engineered to work with that chassis.

Rufazz thanks for the kind words. Now about that chassis thing. I think you have me mixed up with Hughes. I don't have access to the molds but believe me when I tell you that if I did, I would be putting some of these on the market, with a slight redesign. The complete front suspension would be redone, the front "hood....bonnet" would be redone to remove the holes for the coilovers, and a little "trunk space" would be made. I can really see this car as an everyday driver if the top issue and the trunk issue were solved! Maybe Hughes will take our hints and get to work! And yes, Hughes, one, just one of these is needed in carbon fiber.....you know, just to show the world! Mike No Camaro.
