Thanks FerrariXXXman !,
Thats EXACTLY why the wheels are on the car. I was told by somebody who has built many kits that it is best to have the wheels on the chassis before you mount your body, that way you can check and center the body over the wheels before you finally mount it. The wheels have since been removed so as not to mess them up.
Tomorrow I finish up the bat wings, so I'll be posting pics of that soon.

Heres another thing I was really glad I was able to accomplish. Someone on another thread on this forum was commenting on somebodys build that they (the builder) spent so much time on everything and left the gas cap on the wrong side! At first I didn't think much of it, but the more I thought about it, I realized he was right. The next day I went to the shop and moved my gas cap to the other side!

Fantastic! Keep posting pics! Have any of the front fender you modified? That was me about the gas cap, I am so happy you saw the light! Just the mere fact of pulling into a gas station and fueling the car on the correct side speaks volumes! Every time you get gas now and you have to walk around to the other side you will have this good feeling inside! Knowing that you went out of your way to make it perfect! You wont even have to worry about another lambo pulling in from behind asking you why your gas filler is on the wrong side.

That thought crossed my mind, and it was the deciding factor in making the change!  That would truely be an embarrasing situation!

Excellent work Murci-me, i'm glad you started your own build thread. Maybe you can add all your other bits and pieces too? Like the batwing mechanism, electric window mechanism etc etc. I'd love the spec of the motors that you have used for your batwings if you can get the details? That way i can see if i can source them or similar over here in the UK

Every Murcie (kit) I have seen is missing door handles.I guess since nobody makes replica handles, people just opt for the solenoid and remote. The thing that I dont like about that system, is that if your battery goes dead, you're outta luck. Shure, some people make a small hole where they can stick a wire in to pop the latch in such an event, but that makes it easier for thieves to get in (not to mention it does'nt look very good either).
Since I wanted to keep my car as close to the actual as possible, I went to Lamborghini to see if I could order door handles. When they told me the price($2700 EA.), I realized I had to come up with something else. After taking a couple measurements, I went home, and this is what I came up with.
They are the exact size and shape as the actuals, and work identically. It wasn't hard to do, but milling the pieces was a pain.
First I cut the opening in the door, and then made a pocket the handle would mount in.

Here is a pic of the handle itself, and one of the handles installed in the door

I went to the electronics store today and bought more of those motors that are used for the bat-wings and spoilers. I have 10 of them, 2 of which are reserved for FAKER. They have maybe 10 left now, so if anybody wants them, let me know. They are $10 ea., plus shipping. I'm working on making a circuit board for the controller circuit, but if your handy with a soldering iron, I can just fax you the schematic if you want to make it yourself.
I will be posting pics of the bat wing project tonight, but not start to finish(0nly because I'm not finished yet!). Its really simple, and those motors work GREAT!. I cant believe how much torque they have. I secured one in a vise on my workbench, hooked up a temporary arm,and was able to lift a 20lb dumbell off the floor -no problem.

I'll take 3 if you have any left over and there is enough! I can live with 2 if it will prevent someone else getting a set. Whenever you are ready PM me the info and I will send you the money! I can't wait to start my build! I think half the fun is building and getting everything in order.

FAKER, I can send you 3, no problem. I'm trying to figure out my PAYPAL acct, so I can accept payments. Here is a pic of the actual motor. Its got 3 mounting points, and easily snaps open to connect the wires (2). You need to epoxy a stud in the drive post center, so you can attach an arm. I can do this for you (N/C), just let me know if you need me to.

Heres a pic of the frame pieces cut to length for the frame of the bat wing. I used 3/4"X3/4" steel tube for this. After Its welded together, Fiberglass cloth is cut and laid over the frame to bond it to the fiberglass. These pics do not show the hinge piece you need to build, but I'll post a pic of that later, its really simple. One important note; when welding the frame pieces together, make shure they are laying on the backside of the wing it will be attached to. Since the wing is a compound curve, its the only way to mimic the curvature accurately so the frame will have uniform contact with the fiberglass wing. You dont need to fully weld it while its sitting on the wing, just tack it together enough to hold its shape, then remove it and do the welding.
