Hey Everyone, I am going to bring up the age old question that no has seemed to really nail down and that is what to do with the stock fiero controls. Is is possible to use another control and splice the wires togeather? I am just looking to be able to not have the huge and in my mind outdated looking controls. Any ideas shoot. I am partically in favor of replacing the controls all togeather with something more modern looking and maybe a little smaller. Thanks Guys

Check out this site. JScott put a late model Firebird dash in his car and was able to hook up the Firebird environmental controls. Not really smaller but more modern looking. The problem of course was changing from electric to vacuum. Check out Page 10 of his buildup here. Lots of other good stuff here for dash swappers too...

I would like to wire up my OEM ferrari controls to be functional. I wouldn't know the first thing on how to cross the ferrari controls to the pontiac mechanics. Anybody here ever try it?

WoW Bob quick on the draw!  Grin ..fast post. I'll see what I can find as far as wiring the two. We may have to take them apart and trace each curcuit. I think its def do able.  If I can't find wiring on the ferrari end, what are the chances you could
ship it over to me and I can disect the Ferrari switches? "Any Ferrari wiring diagrams AutoMX?"

That would be great if we could find a way to wire up the OEM ferrari controls. I am with Bob, I want the wiring for dummy's version of this conversion.

LOL! The only thing that will be tricky is the temp control, Fiero is ridig cable. "hard line" and the ferrari is electric.
May have to run a silenoid to activate the heater box. But we'll figure it out.

LOL,  I don't even have the stock Fiero controls.  If you guys get a diagram of the Fiero could you please send it to me.  I'm going to try and build my own set of controls, I just need to know what was original.

Dale,

I'm not going to use the stock controls but if you want to send them so I can disect them that would be cool.  The information/diagram would work fine tho.

If you do decide to send them to me you could just drop by on your way to WA.  I'm sure it'll be awhile before I'm ready to work on the HVAC controls anyways.

I have a lambo roadster replica and I have the stock lambo climate control working with a new aftermarket blower unit.  Works great.  Only thing I don't have is vent control (it blows all vents (floor, dash, and defrost).  I just close the ones I don't want on so it is easy.  Not sure anything about Ferrari controls.
