The GPS antenna in my Scion is under the windshield-wiper cover thing (the black plastic in front of the windshield), never had a problem there.  A lot of other people put GPS antennas underneath the top layer of the dashboard, and don't have any problems.   Lots of places to put it without being seen.  XM on the other hand, I haven't found a hidden spot on my Scion yet that actually works.  If I put it outside in sight, the stereo's getting jacked as soon as I pull into Boston.    Makes me want to do a Batmobile - style retracting hard cover for the car if I ever have a Replica.

can you start cuting out a complete plate 3-pc. ,in your spare time

If I get a chance I'll give it a shot, but at the moment I hardly have time to poop.  Thought I was going to be home on time last night, riiight..  Test fixture decided to go stupid just as I was getting ready to leave the building.  Home at a normal time tonight, but have to machine 2 small test fixtures tonight to have ready in the morning.  Might be another all-nighter.  Sad   Not to mention all the HVAC stuff I'm still behind on.  Diablo / Murci circuit boards with corrected circuitry should be in tomorrow..

Do you have any measurments / drawings of the panel?   I haven't made progress on anything in the last few months..   Never seems to be enough time in the day after getting home from work..

Riceburner, you need to quit your day-job and go into these panels full time.... and charge 3X as much!

LOL   If I could afford health insurance on my own, I probably would..  Smiley  Maybe some day, if I ever get out of apartments and get a house.  I also ended up in a job I actually enjoy, which doesn't help much with free time.  Smiley I'm always here building stuff, or bringing parts home to machine..   Speaking of pricing..  We just got a quote from our machine shop to make some Delrin parts, I could do them for maybe <$100 each including materials..  $420 each!  That's with 5 at a time, it's more for lower qty..  Darn..

Hmm..  It's late, and I've been cruising eBay and the pictures of the Knott's show...   Anyone think there'd be interest in a Lamborghini AC control also??   I see most people are using the stock Fiero controls for the Diablo and other kits..  It looks like a replica "close enough" sized Diablo control would fit into the space of a Fiero control.  It would be a direct plug-in swap, with the exception of having to add the motor to the heater box.  The actual graphics on the LCD display would be all but impossible to replicate (without going to the vendor of the actual LCD!) but you could at least have the correct buttons, and a digital LED display in the area of the LCD display..  Would look much better than the Fiero one in those interiors.   Interesting!   It could even be an option for the 355 guys with the stock-sized Fiero controls in the upper console above the radio.  Although an inline 3 knob setup may be better for those guys..    Best pic I can find of the lambo one is from a Murcielago, but looks like most late-model Lambo's used the same one.   The earlier square-looking Lambo one with the LED display looks like it'd be possible too..   Look like I'm becoming the AC guy!   Just need a kit car to go with them.. LOL

Edit... I really should learn to go to bed on time!   But I just can't let go of a good idea when it hits me.   How's this for a Fiero-sized Lambo-look panel, with LED display?   Now to sleep!   Gotta get up in 3 hours!  Doh...    Whoops!  Just noticed I forgot to round the left-hand corners of the display...  Have to do that later!  Cheesy

how much for this controller ,,i think it will work in the Murcie replica or  G28
can you make the whole plate where the navigation system fit under the A/C controller

COULD SOMEONE SCALE THIS DRAWING FOR ME SO I CAN MAKE ME A FIBERGLASS PLATE FOR THE A/C - NAV SYS

COULD SOMEONE SCALE THIS DRAWING FOR ME SO I CAN PRINT IT AN MAKE A POSTER BOARD TEMPLATE , FOR A FIBERGLASS PLATE FOR THE A/C - NAV SYS

Just replied to your PM but now that I think about it I may actually have posted the file for the HVAC unit here in another post..  Can't remember where at the moment though.  I know I posted the one for the center console buttons, but not sure where that one is either..   I'll try and get the file up when I get home, but that may not be until Sunday...

Nevermind... Only took a few minutes to upload.  Here is an eMachineshop (.ems) file and a .DXF file of the OEM HVAC panel.  Either way will open to scale, the eMachineshop.com program is free and really easy to use if you don't have a CAD program.  You don't have to buy anything from them.  Smiley    Also a link to a .DXF file of the OEM button panel just in case..   You can import a DXF file into the eMachineshop program as well, and it will also print to actual size.

Bump!
Hey guys. I just wanted to put a plug in for Rob's (Riceburner's) HVAC controller. I finally got my AC functional and blowing cold a couple of months ago and plugged in Rob's panel and it works as advertised. Everything is functional and best of all is looks beautiful. If you are building a Ferrari rep or already own one get one of these while you still can! Here's a pic of the panel installed in my center console.
