I need some help, perhaps Ashley can save me here by advising me, but I would like to see other builders decisions on these things as well..

1- I purchased nice sports seats, and I made brackets to join the current seat railings, however, with the roof lowered down, the seats are too high. I have to bend my head in order to fit in. I tried getting the seats to sit on the floor, but the chassis has got a raised bar which does not allow the seat to go totally down. Any idea?

2- the rear of the car was chopped off, and where the spare wheel well was was also cut off to accomodate the rear bumper. I have since fitted an exhaust (360 Style)  and closed off the wheel wheel well horizontally with metal plate. no problem there. However, vertically, next to the tail lights, it is still open. The fumes from the exhaust pipes are entering the car. There is no metal plates closing it as I fear it will be a problem when I need to changes globes. What to do?

3- I do not know whether the engine of the car is Faulty, it is a 2litre Auto. 0-100km/h will take me at least 20 seconds. Once it is in 3rd gar then it goes, but max speed is 120km/h. Any idea on what it could be? Will a Peugeot sedans 3l V6 fit in it, is it same? Please do not reply with I think So's, i need a firm answer of yes or no. If you dont know 100%, then please do note reply to this question.

4- I'm having issues installing my door mirrors, can anyone send me pics of installtion procedures, and also already installed so I can see the finish off. I fitted them, but they look very untidy.

5- How do I change the VDO speedo thingy? I need to make one which has a Ferrari logo on it.. How do I remove it?

6- I'm having mega problems with the window. My previous builder lost the original mechanism (i only have the X thingy). Peugeot is charging me a fortune for the mechanism. Any other options? Any other car's will fit?

7- Where did you fit the battery? I ran mine to the back, and plan to make a home for it, but with the fake engine coming up, dunno if there will be space for it.

8- The inner wheel arches cover, the original 406's ones are now too small with the body widened. What did you do?

Ok listen all, lets just say extreme does produce a reventon kit? How many people with original lamborghinis are going to re-body their lambo to put the kit on. ALL the pieces on a murcielago bolt off with no problem EXCEPT the front fenders and the quarter panels. They are glued on. Now to take them off you would have to cut them off($$$$ for labor). Then lets say someone does put the kit on their car and wants to go back to their original body parts to sell the car. They will have to take the reventon kit off the car($$$$time and labor costs), then have the original pieces bolted back onto the frame($$$time and labor costs), then replace the front fenders and quarter panels($30k just to buy the original oem parts), then have them glued back on precisely($$$$ time and labor costs), then body work, prep and paint($$$$ time, materials costs and of course labor). It's not impossible for them to produce the kit but may not be worth it! I dont know how they are not getting hounded my audi now but if they produce a kit that replicates audi's million dollar plus car they will be in deeeeeeeeep deeeeeeeep ish and VERY fast!

This is the reason why I did not say on this forum I will be doing a Reventon replica. People with millions of pounds in the bank do not care about spending a few hundred thousand pounds on a car. They are the same as many people on this forum. There is a car that they love but they cant have one no matter how much cash they have, well now they can, Do BMW go after people putting M3 kits on there 3 series BM. Before anyone asks it is not a kit they will be built cars. Price will be £100,000 on top of the genuine murci, wheels will be the same, the inside will also be done and yes the dash will be the same

I totally understand why one word about this was not mentioned, see my post above. But now that the cat is out of the bag I and many on this forum would be very interested to see the 21st Reventon! I am hoping you throw us some bones to look at every once in a while!

If I had a: 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 Murcielago I would definitely convert it to a Reventon! It makes perfect sense you have a 2001 Murcielago that is soooo yesterdays news, what are you going to do? Trade it in for 100K and get an Lp640 or the next greatest super-car for a few hundred thousand? I would spend 30-40k rebody the car into a Reventon and be the talk of the town! Basically take something that you were getting rid of and making it look like a million bucks, literally!

You will practically have the same thing as the genuine as well. In reality whats the difference between the Reventon Vs Murcielago other then the body? I would say that the performance will be practically the same, if any different. You are technically getting the same thing as real for a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the cost! You cant even call it a kitcar cause it wont be fake.

Update:

I am sorry that it has been so long since the last one... but everything is looking great.

I believe that I found a place to build the bodies, and although the price is still to be determined, I have seen their work up close and would verify that they know what they're doing.  I will be in negotiations once I finish getting the rest of the molds and organizing them so that I know what part goes where.

I may be adding my own touch of carbon to a few areas of the package as well, so whoever buys will have the show carbon already fabricated into the paneling!

The MR2 convertible looks to be the donor of choice, being that the wheel base is such a close match.  Although I really didn't intend to take on this project, I have had way too many PM's and emails to ignore, so from all of you that have continuously pressed in and suggested that I make the body a "panel replacement" for a donor, you may be getting your way.

I will pay to have the first package made... on me, no worries, but once the body is made, it will be up to all of you to make a final decision wether to have the package sold as is, or if you'd rather me slightly alter it to bolt directly onto the donor and get new tooling of the adjusted panels.

Question... what year MR2 is it that we will be seeking?

Rob;

Any of these made and available right now?  I have done so much work on the 355 that I just don't feel right putting Corvette tail lights in it now.

Can you also measure outside widest rim width for me as well so I can make sure my holes will be big enough for them?

Thanks much
Don

I would be interested in a body also.   I am in Tulsa OK,  are there any other people besides Greenmeansgo that are close.  I have fairly new Chop gun and the set up to do the bodies.  If I could get someone close to come help we could have a body party.  Green is only 4 hours away  and I know Turmight is about the same in Arkansas.  The next step would be distribution to get everyone their bodies.  I sold my 40 Ft enclosed.  Let me know its just an offer or maybe there are more people somewhere else like California that could group up.  I know the donor car looks pretty sweet but how does it compare to the tube chassis?   I saw a really killer tube chassis for the DDR car here in Oklahoma.  It was all round tube just like a race car and was very simple to build and extremely stout.    However the MR2 spyder is looking good.   Let me know
Kelly

Hey Kelly how are you? Hey, don't count on me for a body purchase even this is one of my favorite designs. My wife is 14 weeks into a battle with breast cancer and is just out of surgery. Long road ahead too, so about the only thing I could do would be give moral support. I'd nearly give my left lugnut Grin (you would have had to seen the cartoon) for one of these! Grin
