Your Social Security
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your kids. They need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat of Republican.

Facts are Facts!!!

Our Social Security
Franklin Roosevelt , a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program.  He  promised the following:

1.) That participation in the Program would be
Completely voluntary,

2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
Incomes into the Program,

3.) That the money the participants elected to put
Into the Program would be deductible from
Their income for tax purposes each year,

4.) That the money the participants put into the
Independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the
General operating fund, and therefore, would
Only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program, and no other
Government program, and,

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees
Would never be taxed as income.
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are
Now receiving a Social Security check every month --
And then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of
The money we paid to the Federal government to 'put
Away' -- you may be interested in the following:

-------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the
Independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the
General fund so that Congress could spend it?

A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically
Controlled House and Senate.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax
Deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?

A: The Democratic Party.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social
Security annuities?

A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the
'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the
Senate, while he was Vice President of the USA.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving
Annuity payments to immigrants?
AND MY PERSONALFAVORITE:

A: That's right!  Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,
Began to receive Social Security payments! The
Democratic Party gave these payments to them,
Even though they never paid a dime into it!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans
want to take your Social Security away!

And the worst part about it is younger uninformed citizens believe it!

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of Awareness will be planted and maybe changes will Evolve.

Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn't so.

But it's worth a try.  How many people can YOU send this to?

Actions speak louder than bumper stickers.

AND CONGRESS GIVES THEMSELVES 100% RETIREMENT FOR ONLY SERVING ONE TERM!!!

It doesn't matter who started it... All politics are corrupt. Anyone believing otherwise is only fooling themselves.

You better believe all politicians are corrupt, especially those who are senators. In my opinion, they are only glorified lobbyists for big business. To prove my point, the state of New York ran just fine for the past year or so while Hillary was chasing the presidential nomination. Who really represents the regular person in the USA these days?

I lean towards the libertarian party, but I suspect that if they gained power they would be as corrupt as the rest.  Dave, are you republican?

I was a Republican for the past 20 years. I campaigned for “W” and feel he sold us out. So none of these politicians can be trusted including McCain and the "No Experience Change Child", Obama.  I am a conservative Libertarian now. There are no choices that represent the regular citizen of the good old USA anymore. I want a “Fair Tax” and want to get the long term Senators out of the offices that hold. Kennedy will be a welcome loss. Who would ever think a murder would be elected so many times. I hope Byrd and Murtha are next then Nancy Pelosi.

Aren’t you sick of elected officials representing only big business? What happened to our constitution? Maybe these politicians replaced the Sears catalog with it.

Glad to hear that there is another libertarian out there.  I'm a fiscal conservative and social liberal libertarian.  I mean when the govt. takes my money, they shouldn't spend it like a bunch of drunk sailors and they should stay out of my private life if I'm not hurting anyone.  And yes I was a drunk sailor a few times.

Hallelujah!!!

I knew we had more in common than kit cars!
I too WAS a republican for over 20 years and now also count myself as a conservative libertarian.
I am sick of the way our representatives have prostituted themselves, and betrayed the public trust!

Dave,

A little known, and mostly forgotten federal law (I think is still on the books) is that your SSN cannot be used for personal identification! It is to ONLY be used to identify YOUR (as in personal) account.
Our great-grandparents threw a fit until that law was passed, because they didn't want to be numbered.
They didn't want it to become the "national ID card"!
I spent 21 years in the Navy focusing on the "foreign threat" to our Constitution, I should have taken more seriously the "Domestic threat" our founding fathers were so fearful of, Politicians! They never intended for that nomenclature to describe anything other than "would be kings and tyrants." Certainly never intended it to be passed off as a reference to militias, exactly the opposite as clearly defined in the 2nd amendment.

I don't know who to vote for now that RP dropped out.

regards,

Jeff

Pick your poison Mccain or Obama! Our only saving grace Ron paul is gone! You know what they say, the people deserve the government they elect. Ron Paul was the only one who would have taken us out of this hole.

I liked Ron Paul’s ideas regarding the Constitution. He was a fair Tax supporter as well but, unfortunately the liberal news media that feeds the minds of the couch potato generation who like the idea of change. It is great to know the choices are to elect a guy to office who reminds them of their grandfather or a guy with 147 days of congressional experience who wants change. Who doesn’t want change? We all want change, but people with a brain will want change for a better life from proven leaders who represent the people rather than big business who feeds upon all of us who pay taxes.

The US is deteriorating rapidly because we don’t make anything anymore and crooked politicians are giving out prosperity away to 3rd world countries as fast as they can. But if you think about it, no matter how cheap the products sold at Wal-Mart become, if you have no job, they will still cost too much. The biggest reason manufacturing leaves the United States is not cheap labor, it is high taxes. Typically labor costs between 11% and 16%. The 4 point spread is off shore labor like manufacturing in China or Viet-Nam. The real costs are in where the company is located. Daimler Chrysler located their corporate headquarters in Germany to save taxes. The cost was 35% if based in the US or 17% if based in Germany. That was income lost to the US due to the greed of politicians to pay for special social programs. And it is only going to get worse for the US.

Everyone wants free healthcare, but it isn’t free now is it? I say our health would be better if we got off of the couch, quit eating cheezo’s and do something productive instead of whining or waiting for government hand outs. Then I think we can get out of this hole.
